Bookish Items

These are bookish items that I think are cool, or that I can’t live without!!! I will make sure to share the links where you can find the items.

Transparent 3×5 Sticky Notes I use these to highlight in my books instead of highlighting and permanently damaging the book. They’re the perfect width for most books, even mass market paperbacks. I have found that they work well with many different brands of highlighters and pens. It does take a little bit of time for the highlighter ink to dry, so be mindful of that if you use it for the purpose of not permanently marking your book.

Transparent Colorful 3×3 Sticky Notes I like to use these as chapter summary notes at the end of chapters, especially if I’m reading a series. You know how if you’re reading a series, you either need to take a break from it to cleanse your palette, or maybe it’s a long time between book releases. By the time you get around to reading the next book in the series, you’ve probably forgotten some of the things from the previous books. So I like these little sticky notes so I can go back through and get a little Cliff Notes version of the book. Also helpful with writing reviews and remembering important points.

Sticky Book Tabs Everyone knows about these, and you can’t have too many, or too many color options. I like to use them to mark where there’s a quote that resonated with me for some reason. I’ve seen some people who like to color-code and use it to mark those specific things in the book for reference. I initially started out doing this, but it just didn’t work for me and my style of annotating. Personally, I like to just pick a color palette that goes well with the book cover, so it looks aesthetically pleasing once I’m done. There really is no right way or wrong way to use them.

Sticky Notes 3×1 I love these!!! I use them all over my physical copy of books to write little notes here and there. Like I said, I just can’t bring myself to permanently mark up a book. You’ll see from the picture that I share, the ones I show are transparent (not colored). They’re no longer available on Amazon, unfortunately, so I linked to ones that are similar and from a trusted seller. These are the ones that I’ll buy whenever the current ones I have run out.

Highlighters Not all highlighters are created equal!! This is my personal favorite brand of highlighters. Yes, they’re pricier than others. But I find that they work very well with the sticky notes that I use, they have a wide variety of color options, and even some lighter/neutral colors if you happen to be one of those diabolical people who want to highlight on the actual page.

Booklight How are you going to read your book in bed without waking up the hubby (or dogs in my case haha) if you don’t have a convenient book light?! I mean, are you even a book lover if you don’t lie in bed reading, telling yourself “Just one more chapter…” knowing that you should be going to bed? This is the booklight that I like to use. It wraps around your neck, instead of clipping onto your book. I always found that those lights created shadows or I had to adjust a lot. I like that this one has bendable arms, and each arm has its own control. There are 3 brightness levels, as well as 3 different light colors (cool white, warm white, yellow).
